Introduction
The purpose of the list is simple, to encourage discussion about modeling Two Foot Railroads.The primary focus of this list is modeling in HO scale, but please feel free to discuss other scales if you make mention of it in the subject line (i.e. On2, Gn2, etc.). We have had a surprisingly large number of postings in a single day, so doing so will allow those who are not interested in other scales to skip those messages. Discussing model railroad topics not related to two footers is best kept in the rec.models.railroad newsgroup, where it will reach a much larger and more receptive audience.
If this is your first time subscribing to the list please take a moment to post a message with your full name and geographical address for our member list. Also, a simple introduction and information about your modeling interests is always welcome.
The rules
- Posting ads for model railroad equipment to this list is very welcome, but please keep responses to ads in private email. Therefore be sure to include your email address in your ad, and a note asking people to reply off-list.
- Posting attachments like images, drawings and word-processing documents is not allowed.
- Posting with other formats than Plain Text (ie. HTML and Rich Text) is not allowed.
- Do not post in anger. Consider assembling a dozen or so of Z-scale couplers instead.
- Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
- Off-topic discussions and comments should be kept in private postings.
- Train related humor is allowed in small amounts when related to on-going discussions.
- When a poster asks you to reply off-list please do so by changing the To: address to the original posters. The exception is, of course, if you feel that your reply is of general interest.
- Please check how your e-mail program address mail when you reply, and make sure you are not posting to the list when you should not.
- If you are unsure if your e-mail program is set up correctly, please refrain from posting to the list and replying to postings until you know what you are doing.
- Please read trough postings to the list with ADMIN: in the subject.
- This is not a forum for Virus warnings. Send a letter to the list admin if you feel that something is at risk.
- Please do not change the subject when replying to the list. This makes sorting out threads much easier for many of us. On the other hand, if the discussion diverges, it is a good rule to change the subject like this: Subject: Apples (was: Oranges).
- And finally - remember that everything you post to the list will be kept accessible on the internet forever. Please do not post something you will regret later..
